TITLE:
JOE! Or the greatest loser in all of Longsands Academy
I wanted something that would stick, but I didn’t want it to
be clichéd or conventional. So I named the movie after the protagonist and just
added a lengthy subheading. This will hopefully draw the audience in as it is
like nothing anyone has seen before. The adding of the “!” I thought would
attract the younger crowd as it is more loud and aggressive, the young teenage
crowd like that. I thought the subheading would be relatable as every teenager
feels like a complete loser at some point. Then it mentions a school, which
connotes the location and the age of the audience the film is aimed at. Also
the fact that the character’s name is very ordinary can help relate with the
audience as it’s not a super duper warrior name, it’s simply “joe”.
FONT:
The font will be a rough font, one that looks cracked or
broken. This would be to symbolise how unpolished Joe is and how broken his
social life is. It would be san serif
because it looks less fancy, and our hero is certainly not a posh character.
SETTING:
The setting for the movie would include a street, a school,
a park and his bedroom. This is to create a normal down to earth setting that
teenagers can relate to, all the while creating the uncomfortable and surreal
atmosphere with the dramatized lighting (dark for school and light for outside
of school) but with the 4th wall breaking going on. The lighting
scheme is like this to signify that school is not a fun place and outside of
school is where the characters are free.
MUSIC:
The music will mainly be electronic pop rock to try and
connect with the audience and appeal to the mainstream market of that
audience. They will however not be
popular songs to avoid copyright issues. That way my video can still remain up
on youtube.
UNIQUE SELLING POINT:
This will be a 4th wall breaking movie. This style of comedy will hopefully sell the
movie after the recent success of films like Deadpool, which many teenagers
enjoyed. This will make the film appeal to the audience while still keeping
different from the other teen angst films.
