CONCLUSION:
Teen films usually have a main character who is unpopular, or a character who is popular but for whatever reason becomes unpopular. This is most likely so the teen audience can relate with them. There are usually bullies, as well as a best friend (they're either more unpopular than our hero or are the cool kid). The setting is usually a high school, so again the teen audience can relate. There are usually themes of fashion if they are appealing to girls, in contrast there are sporty themes for the boys. Usually (for the boys but sometimes for the girls) the main character gets the girl/guy who wasn't into them at the start of the movie. There is usually a pop soundtrack filled with music that was popular at the time of the movie's inception. This is probably to sell more merchandise like CD's or songs. And finally there is usually an important message at the end which ties in with and affect's the protagonist's ark, for example: the main character becomes really popular and shallow, learns the errors of their ways and becomes wiser at the end of the movie.

Eastenders analysis
My study of the elderly representation in Eastenders.
LIGHTING:
The lighting is very dim, which hints at the idea of an old man's life source flickering. however it isn't dark, you can still see every detail of their face to show how old they are.
CINEMATOGRAPHY:
The camera shots mainly consist of either high angle shots to make them seem vulnerable, low angle shots to show their wisdom or experience on earth (as if the years they have lived are shown in height) or medium shots, as if to say the only important part of the old man physically is his face, because depending on their clothes, that's how you tell someone by age.
EDITING:
The editing is rather slow and relaxed, matching the personality of an old person. it also lets the shots play out to give time to show their ageing.
MISE EN SCENE:
The elderly person usually wears brown, green, grey clothes that look rough and old if they're a man, if they're a woman they'll wear colourful dresses as an attempt to hold on to their youth.
SOUND:
Usually there is a lack of music to let their old voices sink in. If they are listening to music they listen to classical music or music from the 50s.
